"Built for Comfort" was formed after I was asked by the management at Scotty's Tavern to put together a band for Sunday nights. (Most jobs here are of the one-night variety. However, most of the venues are small, so not much equipment needs to be moved around.) Herman and Andre are also in this band, and Ross Muir adds vocals and bass. Anything goes, but the emphasis is on blues. We haven't done a CD yet, but here are some LIVE recordings of this band at work!

The "Brothers in Booze" is a band that has been together in some form for more than ten years. They have hosted "Australia's Greatest Jam Session" every Monday night for that entire period! Shortly after I arrived here, I introduced myself to Herman Marcic. He was playing with "You've Been H.A.D.". (By the way, almost everyone here plays with more than one band.) Herman invited me to the jam and after I had sat in with them a couple of times, they asked me to join since their keyboard player, Ron Hodgkinson, wanted some time off. Ron has recently rejoined the band so we now have two keyboardists -- I love it! In addition to Herman on lead guitar and vocals, Ron, and myself, the band consists of the following: Lorrie McFarland-Hunt on vocals and guitar; Dan O'Moore on vocals, harmonica, guitar, and percussion; Andre Jayet on drums and vocals; and Stan Satour on bass.

The "Blue Swimmers" are the brain-child of Graeme Peter. He got the idea to put together a band that played "pool-side" music -- Beach Boys, surf, etc., and also have girl singers. The final product is a little different. We play any type of venue, the songlist is basically easy-listening, and we have just one girl singer at the moment -- Samantha Dann. She has done a lot of country and is very good at it, but we are expanding her repertoire to include all kinds of music. Peter Chappel is the drummer, and we recently added Chris Coburn on keys.

I played quite a bit with Warren Collits and "The Big Red Rockers" before I started working so much on my own. Warren is great songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist as you can tell from the songs on his CD. He doesn't play as much guitar on the CD as I wish he would have, but the session players he used are excellent and well respected Australian musicians/producers. Warren's songs give you a good flavor of life in Australia's Northern Territory.
